leave with Crowds - Review Peter Highman (Robert Downey Jr
.) Is an architect close to fatherhood. In Atlanta on business and just five days after the birth of her first child, he must soon return to Los Angeles to care for his wife during cesarean delivery. But a huge misunderstanding at the airport will force him to face the Atlanta-Los Angeles trip in the car, along with the aspiring actor Ethan Tremblay (Zach Galifianakis
): immature nutcase and an accomplice for his misfortune. To analyze
"I'm leaving with
Crowds," the American comedy that marks the return to the big screen by director Todd Phillips
U.S., is a must also consider his other film, one that in 2009 gave him a great success: "A Hangover
. This is because there are many similarities that bind "with the crowds
Childbirth "And" Hangover
", starting from the most marginal who sees once again the presence of Zach Galifianakis
, actor in that film, with its amazing character, he surprised everyone positively.
The most significant similarities between the two films are in the story. Once again, in fact, we are in a journey on the road "around America, once again, this trip will give absurd and hilarious moments, and once again will be a journey against time.
To take the reins of history a
Robert Downey Jr . in a more limited version of usual. His Peter Highman fact is someone prissy, fussy and always composed, completely different from the more recent characters interpreted by him as the Tony Stark of "Iron Man
" or the "Sherlock Holmes" by Guy Ritchie. And even if the hard task of making the audience laugh at him but does not touch directly on his traveling companion, the same he does not give up even giving us some fun and have fun joke "hidden". As one of the guard at the airport metal detector in his life where he states that he never used drugs. Sentence that has nothing funny to say it is less an actor known for his big problems with drugs. But this is not the only pearl of Robert in the film. There are at least another couple that does not reveal because they make it taste better if you live.
As I mentioned above, the role of the film is more fun
Zach Galifianakis , better known as "
what he did Hangover . It honestly seems to see him in a spin-off of that movie. His character in "Mad
leave with" does not differ much from what made him famous, so it works in much the same way. Once again the usual ingenuotto, struggling with drugs (but this time has an excuse!), Always accompanied by his faithful dog Sonny and his dream of joining the TV series "Two and a Half Men
. But what matters most is that once again fails to offer some memorable scenes and hallucinatory. One out of every night in the car with his dog at the expense of poor Peter.
To enrich the cast some high level participation, such as Jamie Foxx
in the shoes of Peter's best friend, and that of
Juliette Lewis in the role of a 'drug dealer is unlikely to Marijuana. It would also add to the list
Michelle Monaghan, who plays the pregnant wife of Peter, but its role is still small though larger than a cameo.
short, it seems that
Todd Phillips this time has decided not to risk too much by using a structure similar to that already proven that he brought good luck once before and that certainly will do again. Because even though "I'm leaving with
Madman" has the same amount of insanity that had "
Hangover ," still managed to snatch moments of high comedy and big laughs dosandoli also moments of melancholy. A very good job, that does not fully satisfy the (large) expectations the signed but not at all unhappy to leave, but ...
