Fantastic Gulliver's Travels - The Review

Lemuel Gulliver ( Jack Black) is the officer placed a newspaper in New York. Trapped in a role from which they can emerge, poses as a writer and convinces Darcy Silverman ( Amanda Peet) to entrust a service in the Bermuda Triangle. During the journey towards the goal, first a storm and then a strange vortex, the prisoner will awaken in Lilliput, a land inhabited by tiny people.

Jack Black: One of the funniest actors of the Hollywood landscape, beautiful star of comedies like "School of Rock " and "Tropic Thunder " has always been one of my favorite comedians. But as Jim Carrey, his dynamism and his comedy work perfectly only if it is the story of the film to be at his service and not vice versa.

In this comedy directed by Rob Letterman I was almost sure that I would review the Black risucire to free expression such as "School of Rock . I was not wrong, but unfortunately the end result has left me very displaced. Displaced and disappointed because I did not imagine that "The Fantastic Gulliver's Travels" was a film exclusively for an audience of kids. It is true that Jack Black has a lot of space available and a lot of freedom to use its enormous verve, but the service of a story similar to that of "A Night at the Museum " do not acquire their true value, at least not this time. And even though the final scene in which the actor sings (and dances), a song against the war alone could be worth the ticket price (but not in 3D), it is not sufficient to satisfy the claims of a big fan! It is true, the nice and funny tributes to historical films like "Star Wars ", " Titanic" and "Avatar " Gulliver which uses it to become protagonist in the eyes of the inhabitants of Lilliput may be nice to see, as well as adaptations of some famous brand but you could certainly do better. A comedy that tries too superficial and obvious methods enough to laugh with "easy". I am referring for example to the way it goes the fire in the village or at the end of the poor Lilliputian when Gulliver falls to the ground.

Luckily make the pill less bitter are the beauties of Amanda Peet and Emily Blunt . The first is Darcy Silverman, the woman secretly loved by Gulliver, the second is the princess of Lilliput. To enrich the cast also includes Jason Segel in the role of Horatio, best friend of Gulliver in Lilliput. Actor sconosciutissimo from us, despite the comedy "Forgetting Sarah Marshall " a few year ago, but very popular in America.

few tricks up their sleeves, some cute little scene here and there and some funny lines, but these "Fantastic Gulliver's Travels" are not so great if we have more than fifteen years. We hope will serve at least to discover who has not yet had the pleasure, fun and how phenomenal talent such as Jack Black.
